Virginia International Raceway, nicknamed VIR, is also a circuit that has brought the JDC-Miller MotorSports team success in the past with the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR platform, and the team will certainly be referring back to those experiences to get a head start this weekend!

After what seemed like an endless run of bad luck and freak mechanical issues during the middle of the season, the Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports team has put in the work and the results show the team’s progress with three consecutive top five finishes and qualifying within the top two, in the last two events.

Typically, not a very well-suited track for the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR platform versus that of its competitors in the shorter wheelbase Hyundai, Honda, and Alfa Romeo, Audi's have been able to do well in previous years based on better fuel strategy and tire degradation.

CarBahn with Peregrine Racing showcased adaptability at Road America. The No. 93 Audi R8 GT4 LMS had one of its most progressive weekends to date at Road America. The long-time pairing of Mark Siegel and Tom Dyer were able to efficiently communicate setup changes to engineer and strategist Steve Dinan getting the car ideally balanced for qualifying. An early race incident caused them to retire early, but the team is walking away from the weekend proud of the strides it made.

CarBahn with Peregrine Racing pushes forward after a weekend of trials and growth. Road America tested both the drivers and crew of the No. 39 Audi R8 GT3 LMS with ever-changing weather and hectic on-track activity. After torrential rain significantly cut the teams practice time engineer and strategist Steve Dinan had to maximize the drivers’ feedback in order to get the car balanced for qualifying. Well-practiced pit stops, and thorough communication aided in the teams efforts ultimately resulting in a tenth place finish.

Manufacturer Audi Sport are celebrating as James Sofronas pilots a seasoned Audi R8 LMS Ultra (#14 GMG Racing) to victory in the first race of a double-header weekend at the Music City Grand Prix. Starting from P1, Sofronas lost the lead right out of the gate and had to work to recapture the top spot while defending from podium-seeking competitors.

Heading into the beautiful road course facility of Road America on the fringes of Elkhart Lake, WI, the team duo of Mikey Taylor and Chris Miller will look to repeat the strong showing they had going at Lime Rock Park where they had been in control of the race up until the final 15 minutes when fuel pressure and steering rack issues struck the #17 Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Having consistently been in the sharp end of the TCR field all weekend but only able to come away with a 4th place finish, the team will be looking to redeem themselves for those final 15 minutes with a podium finish at Road America. The Audi Customer Racing supported group is headed into Road America with its signature black and green machines; the No. 39 Audi R8 GT3 LMS and the No. 93 Audi R8 GT4 LMS. The 14 turn, 4.048-mile course features sweeping turn sequences and long straights that typically are uncomplimentary to the R8 platform. However, the CarBahn with Peregrine Racing group has been focusing on pit performance and driver race craft to maximize the strengths of its program and overcome any on-track lack it may have.

Audi Sport customer racing will be showcasing four one-off designs at the Spa 24 Hours from July 29 to August 1. The individual designs of the Audi R8 LMS pay homage to a major anniversary on the famous Ardennes circuit whose racing history began in 1921.

Clear the stage for an electrifying high-tech test laboratory: just under a year after the initial concept idea, Audi Sport has started testing the new Audi RS Q e-tron, with which Audi will take on one of the greatest challenges there is in international racing in January 2022: the Dakar Rally.

With 83 drivers titles won worldwide and 106 additional championship victories, the Audi R8 LMS is one of the most successful GT3 race cars. To ensure that this continues to be the case, Audi is presenting the evo II model. The revised mid-engine sports car is even more specifically tailored to the requirements of private customer teams, but the additional price is still moderate.

The No. 93 Audi R8 GT4 LMS started its weekend strong topping the charts in Practice One. The fast-paced event provided the team with only 36 hours for two practices, qualifying and the Lime Rock 120 making each session crucial. Drivers Nolan Siegel and Tom Dyer maximized their seat time and learning to earn the No. 93 its best finish of the season.

The team heads into the GT-only weekend ready to battle in the IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup Round 4 and IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge Round 5. After a 10-day stay at the smooth and rolling Watkins Glen International, the 1.50, 7 turn, Lime Rock Park is a stark change for the drivers and crew. Fortunately, the Audi R8 chassis thrives on short and fast tracks, making Lime Rock Park its ideal circuit.

CarBahn with Peregrine Racing capped off its Watkins Glen International stay with a fourth-place finish. The No. 39 Audi R8 GT3 LMS began its weekend on a high note with a third-place qualifying lap by driver Richard Heistand. With limited track time for this event Engineer and Strategist Steve Dinan was required to work his magic to provide the drivers with a perfectly balanced car. As always, Dinan delivered, presenting the drivers with a fast car in all conditions, even in the erratic rain.

The first races of the double header at Watkins Glen International is now complete. Carbahn with Peregrine Racing and NTE Sport continued to show the paddock that the Audi R8 LMS GT3 is a formidable competitor. Penalties kept both teams off the podium regardless of the impressive performance. McCann Racing with Michael McCann Jr. and Andrew Davis piloted the top finishing Audi R8 LMS GT4 in the four hour endurance race.

Watkins Glen International will host two consecutive IMSA races at the historic NY race track. Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen will go green on Sunday, June 27, and five days later the WeatherTech 240 that replaces the Canadian CTMP event. Two Audi R8 LMS GT3 race car will highlight the six hour event for the brand.

CarBahn with Peregrine Racing is headed to the Northeast for a ten-day event at Watkins Glen International Raceway. To continue its debut streak, the No. 39 Audi R8 GT3 LMS will kick off the event with the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen. This will be the teams’ first endurance event and will feature the full season pairing of Richard Heistand and Jeff Westphal joined by 2018 IMSA MICHELIN Pilot Challenge Champion Tyler McQuarrie.

The new second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS clinched its first World Cup trophies on its racing debut. Privateer Tom Coronel won the Trophy classification in the first sprint at the opening round of the 2021 FIA WTCR season at the Nürburgring, while Gilles Magnus decided this class in his favor in the second sprint. After a fight to catch up, the Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon secured sixth place at the end of the race weekend and thus the best result for Audi Sport customer racing.

A weekend of what could have been, for the Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSports team at the tight and twisty Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course, for the third round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Championship. After starting from pole position the team eagerly entered the race excited to regain their championship momentum with a strong result, only to suffer another mechanical failure leaving them with a 14th place finish.

Four weeks after its two victories at the season opener in Monza, the Audi R8 LMS GT2 continued its winning streak in the new GT2 European Series at the second round at Hockenheim.

The formidable Audi R8 LMS GT3 will begin the IMSA Sprint series this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Carbahn with Peregrine racing has been working around the clock to prepare the GTD Entry. Audi RS 3 LMS TCR teams score top podium position in the first two races. The teams have placed Audi in the top position for the TCR Manufacturers Championship.

It’s been an Audi kind of year thus far in the Touring Car (TCR) class of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. Whether that continues this week in the Mid-Ohio 120 remains to be seen but based on recent results at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, odds are good at least one Audi RS3 LMS SEQ will be in the hunt.

Shortly after the first two major victories of the Audi R8 LMS GT2 at Monza, Audi Sport customer racing is launching a small series of its race car. Six characterful colors transform the most powerful model of the R8 LMS into individual collectors’ items.

Following the world premiere of the Audi RS 3 LMS on February 5, Audi Sport’s new TCR model is undergoing an intensive testing program. A wind tunnel test at Ingolstadt was followed by the first runs on race tracks at Castellolí in Catalonia, Vallelunga near Rome and Aragon in northern Spain. The other stages have also already been scheduled until the car’s racing debut in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup in the summer.

The Audi RS 3 LMS SEQ competed for the first time in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and finishes first in class. This is the third win for the Audi RS 3 LMS at Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56 mile long track in the last 4 years. All three Audi R8 LMS GT4 teams reached the top of the field in the GS class but bad luck relegated them to mid-pack finishes. After suffering fuel pickup issues, dropping them down the order, the #17 Unitronic JDC-Miller MotorSport Audi RS 3 LMS TCR recovered from 2 laps behind to take victory at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season opener.

Mikey Taylor and his codrivers Chris Miller and William Tally claimed a glorious TCR class victory in the opening round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Daytona International Speedway. At the end of a 4-hour race that provided lots of drama, the South African drove his JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS to take the chequered flag only seven tenths ahead of Ryan Eversley in one of the Atlanta Speedwerks Honda Civic Type R cars, while Steven Simpson completed the podium in the Michael Johnson Racing Hyundai Veloster N, as he stole third place from the Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Veloster of Michael Lewis by 33 thousandths.

Irish Mike’s Racing will head to New Orleans Motorsports Park (NOLA) to start the 2021 World Racing League (WRL) season this weekend. The driving trio of Todd Buras, Conor Flynn, and Michael Flynn will team up to drive the No. 95 ChillOut Systems Audi RS3 for two eight-hour endurance races on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st.

Audi will be well represented at the Rolex 24 at Daytona race weekend with six Audi race cars. Audi has fielded a GTD entry in the series since 2012 and captured the class win twice in the 24-hour endurance race. This year’s goal is to expand Audi brand motorsports success with GT3, GT4 and TCR team entries.

NTT IndyCar Series driver JR Hildebrand will be part of NTE Sport’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The 33-year-old Californian, who has previous sports car racing experience in the American Le Mans Series, will join Andrew Davis, Don Yount and Alan Metni in the team’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo for the Florida endurance classic.

Audi Sport customer racing will continue its international program in 2021 to complement its customers’ commitments. For the sixth year in succession, Audi will contest the Intercontinental GT Challenge, which will be held in Asia, America, Europe and South Africa next year. The Nürburgring 24 Hours will also be a fixture on the Audi Sport calendar for the 13th consecutive year. The brand will face the sporting competitions of the coming year with 15 Audi Sport drivers.

After finishing as the top non-Hyundai in the standings for the second year in a row, Road Shagger Racing is out for Bryan Herta Autosport blood in 2021. Gavin Ernstone and Jon Morley will be back behind the wheel of their Daytona-winning Audi RS 3 LMS TCR at the end of January. They’ll be looking to repeat their 2020 Daytona win with old-faithful, before switching over to their new car featuring Audi’s lightweight package and a sequential gearbox for Sebring.

Audi Sport customer racing can look back on a list of outstanding successes at the end of a highly compressed season with its customers. Even though the number of races worldwide in the 2020 pandemic year was down by around 37 percent, the Audi Sport customer racing models were similarly successful in their categories as in the previous year.

FASTMD Racing will mount a full-season championship attack on the GS class in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next year utilizing the Audi R8 GT4 platform. The young and dynamic duo of James Vance and Alexandre Papadopulos will take the helm for FASTMD Racing for the next two seasons of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS Competition.

Team Hardpoint formed at the beginning of the 2020 season with a long-term vision of becoming a major player in professional racing. Just one week after the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Audi Sport customer racing has the next date on its calendar: For its North American round from October 2 to 4, the Intercontinental GT Challenge will make its debut at Indianapolis, the tradition-steeped temple of speed in U.S. motorsport in the state of Indiana. The experienced Belgian Team WRT of Vincent Vosse, which has already won the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring and Spa as well as numerous championship titles, will cooperate for the first time with the American Team Hardpoint.

Team Hardpoint may not have gotten the results they were looking for, but took a leap forward during the IMSA Michelin GT Challenge at VIR in both the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Team Hardpoint survived a wet and wild finish to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race on Sunday at Road America, earning a top-10 finish in the GT Daytona (GTD) class through perseverance, strategy and grit.

Team Hardpoint drivers Rob Ferriol and Spencer Pumpelly battled during the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race on Saturday at Road America to bring home a ninth-place finish, equaling the team's best result of the season in Grand Sport (GS) class competition.

Team Hardpoint, who two weeks ago competed in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge championship on the same weekend for the first time, will do the same again this weekend, July 31 - August 2, during the IMSA SportsCar Weekend at Road America.

An excellent start for Audi teams during the return of the Michelin Pilot Challenge competition. The Advent Health 120 at Sebring International raceway proved Audi is a strong competitor in both the GS and TCR classes. Teams and drivers continue to gain valuable championship points through the second race of the season.

Following a successful debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship less than two weeks ago at Daytona, Team Hardpoint drivers Rob Ferriol and Spencer Pumpelly will doubledown with a WeatherTech GT Daytona (GTD) and an IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Grand Sport (GS) effort this weekend at Sebring. The pair will co-drive the No. 30 Team Hardpoint/GridRival Audi R8 LMS GT3 in GTD, and the No. 31 Team Hardpoint/GridRival Audi R8 GT4 in GS.

Twenty nine IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race cars will meet in Sebring, FL, this weekend for the second round of the sprint series. The Michelin Pilot Challenge returns to competition with twenty five entries in the competitive two class series. For the first time since Daytona, both series will compete at the celebrated venue.

The first race at VIR saw the return of the Audi RS 3 LMS DSG in competition. The category, now open to Audi and VW DSG race cars, was balanced to allow the DSG to win overall. Two Audis joined the competition during the VIR with good results.

Racing returns to Daytona International Speedway, the same location where we started in January. The WeatherTech 240 At Daytona kicked-off the revised season schedule and the IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup Championship. After a short weather delay, IMSA teams proudly lined up on pit row prior to the start of the Fourth of July holiday race.

Team Hardpoint, with co-drivers Rob Ferriol and Spencer Pumpelly behind the wheel of the No. 30 GridRival Audi R8 LMS GT3, made a successful IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) debut on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, overcoming difficult conditions and little advance track time for a 12th-place finish but gaining valuable experience as a team.

TC America, made up of the exciting TCR, TC, and TCA classes, returns to action next weekend at VIRginia International Raceway, a 3.27-mile, 17-turn natural terrain circuit in Alton, Virginia. A diverse and international lineup of 33 cars from VW, Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Nissan, Subaru, and MINI will battle in a traditional single driver, sprint race triple-header for rounds 3, 4, and 5 of the 2020 season.

Team Hardpoint expands their IMSA program to include an Audi R8 LMS GT3. Maintaining their current MPC Audi R8 LMS GT4 program, the team will also keep their existing driver line-up with Rob Ferriol and Spencer Pumpelly. Audi remains in the championship hunt as the revised IMSA GTD Sprint Cup racing schedule begins on July 4, at Daytona International Speedway.

Team Hardpoint, along with co-drivers Rob Ferriol and Spencer Pumpelly, will be doubling their efforts for the remainder of the 2020 season by adding a GT Daytona (GTD) entry in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in company with the team's IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season already in progress. The co-drivers will compete in both championships behind the wheel of the Audi R8, running the Audi R8 LMS GT3 in the WeatherTech Championship and the Audi R8 GT4 in the GS class of Michelin Pilot Challenge.

With two rounds down, SRO America’s GT Rivals Esports Invitational heads to the South of France where real world pro drivers and sim racers will take on Circuit Paul Ricard in Assetto Corsa Competizione. First opened in 1970 near the village of Le Castellet, the track's most famous feature is the long Mistral straight. Named after the wind that blows from southern France into the Mediterranean, it stretches to 1.8 km (1.1 miles) and will see GT World Challenge drivers reach top speeds in excess of 290km (180mph).

GT Rivals Esports Invitational returned to action visiting the popular Italian raceway - Misano World Circuit - for Round 2. Utilizing Assetto Corsa Competizione, the official game of GT World Challenge powered by AWS, thirty-three real world pros and sim racers from the Champion Motorsports sim racing league took to the racetrack for a 60-minute feature race.

At the incredibly thrilling season-opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), Audi Sport fell short of its own expectations. After racing cars from seven different manufacturers had qualified in the top ten, Audi headed into the Bathurst 12-hour race feeling optimistic. However, setbacks hampered all three of Audi Sport Team Valvoline’s racing cars. The best result for the Audi R8 LMS was achieved by the Australian customer team Hallmarc, claiming third place in its class.

Race success in the USA: The Audi customer team WRT Speedstar Audi Sport scored third place with its Audi R8 LMS in the strongly-supported GTD class at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Audi Sport drivers Mirko Bortolotti and Dries Vanthoor, who shared the cockpit of the number 88 entry with Rolf Ineichen and Daniel Morad, at times led the class and finished the race on the podium. Audi Sport customer racing celebrated a podium lock-out in the support race: At the season opener of the Michelin Pilot Challenge, three Audi RS 3 LMS occupied the top positions of the TCR class after the four-hour race.

Green light for the fourth model range: Following the start of production, Audi Sport customer racing began deliveries of the first Audi R8 LMS GT2 cars shortly before Christmas. The Unitronic No.17 Audi RS 3 LMS battled adversity in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Virginia is for Racing Lovers 120 at VIRginia International Raceway this past weekend. IndyCar driver Gabby Chaves kicked off the weekend with a commanding start, putting down the fastest lap in the first practice session, showing a strong pace. South African sportscar debutant Julian Van der Watt took the seat in second practice, laying down a handful of strong laps but an issue forced an early end to the session. Following a challenging start to the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the drivers and crew at Starworks Motorsport are optimistic heading into their first street course race of the year, the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic in Detroit, Michigan. Audi Sport customer racing is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Following the presentation of the first generation of the Audi R8 LMS in 2008, the first customers relied on the GT3 sports car the following season – and immediately clinched three driver championship titles. To date, the number of these successes has increased to 52 around the world, plus other class titles have been won and victories scored in 12-, 24- and even 25-hour races.
