10th SEASON
2021 marks the tenth season of competition for Audi Sport customer racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The series includes some of the most iconic race events in North America including the Rolex 24 At Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, 6 Hours of the Glen, and Petit Le Mans.
IMSA CHAMPIONSHIP
OVERVIEW
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship features two styles of race cars, Prototype and GT. Each style has two classes, Pro and Pro-Am, meaning there are four classes of racing on track together, each with their own class battle for the lead. The Audi R8 LMS GT3 competes in the WeatherTech Championship GTD class. GTD race cars are based on production model cars that feature advanced aerodynamic packages and lightweight carbon fiber body panels. The Audi R8 LMS GT4 and Audi RS 3 LMS will compete in the Michelin Pilot Challenge.

The Audi R8 LMS has proved to be a formidable competitor in the series. Winning the iconic Rolex 24 At DAYTONA and Petit Le Mans confirm the Audi R8 LMS is a reliable and robust race car. Backed by support from Audi Sport customer racing, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Teams will continue to represent the Audi Sport racing heritage.
