Audi Monterey Peninsula Teams up With Audi Sport customer racing

In advance of the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Stevenson Motorsports needed to make some last-minute modifications to prepare their two R8 LMS cars, which were already in California, far from their home in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Audi Monterey Peninsula offered Stevenson two service bays to make the needed changes.

Support for Audi Sport customer racing was strong during the Laguna Seca race weekend. Prior to the race, Audi Monterey Peninsula opened their service bays for Stevenson Motorsports while they prepared the two-car team for the endurance classic. Stevenson Motorsports and the Audi Monterey Peninsula service team worked hand-in-hand to ensure the #6 and #9 car were ready for the starting grid.

In addition to this support for Stevenson, the dealership hosted the Magnus team and the Daytona-winning Magnus R8 LMS for an evening event with customers.

Magnus driver, Andy Lally delighted Audi enthusiasts with a behind the scenes look at the last laps of Daytona. Magnus Racing accomplishments have been remarkable, the team fought hard all the way to the end while executing a well-planned race strategy. As a special gift, General Manager Steve Marshalek offered customers tickets to participate in the on-track activities including hot lap rides, paddock and hot pit tours. It was an unforgettable Audi Sport track day experience for those who attended.

CRP Racing celebrated its first podium result of the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Kyle Marcelli was behind the wheel of the team's Audi R8 LMS ultra and finished third in the final results of the second race. M1GT Racing also enjoyed podium success in the SprintX races, the first event of this new class within the Pirelli World Challenge. The team finished second and third respectively in the two races with drivers Dion von Moltke and David Ostella in an Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Audi Experiences Disappointment in The Eifel

Following three class and three overall victories since 2009, Audi had been planning for another good showing in the Nürburgring 24 Hours this year. However, with two race cars supported by Audi Sport customer racing in the top ten, the 44th running of the event proved disappointing. As the best Audi teams, Belgian Audi Club Team WRT achieved eighth place and Twin Busch Motorsport position ten.

In a short 100-minute sprint race littered with five full-course caution periods, Stevenson Motorsports played the strategy game to drive their No. 6 Stevenson Motorsport Audi R8 LMS home to a top-five finish. The 2015 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge championship winning team flip-flopped their driving strategy to allow Robin Liddell to take the green while Andrew Davis drove the Audi home to a fifth place finish at the checkered flag.

Returning to a track that has been notoriously challenging for the team, Magnus Racing would finish Saturday's Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers in a quiet 10th.

"We knew this would be a challenging weekend for us," stated team owner and co-driver John Potter. "For whatever reason the circuit at Belle Isle has just never been our track, and this weekend proved no different. I applaud everyone on the team for working hard throughout the weekend, we definitely put in the effort, and ultimately seeing the checkered flag in 10th was all we could ask for."

Barrie Race-Car Driver Has Events in Montreal, Wisconsin and New York

Barrie race-car driver Kyle Marcelli has a busy schedule on tap for June with three events.

As the Pirelli World Challenge hits its halfway point of the season, Marcelli and the No. 2 CRP Racing Audi R8 GT3 sit in fifth place in the GT Drivers Championship with three podium finishes, two top-five finishes and one top-10.

Marcelli is in Montreal this weekend for the Ferrari Challenge, and in two weeks will be in Elkhart Lake, Wis., for the Pirelli World Challenge, which runs June 23-26. He will close out the month with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Watkins Glen International in upstate New York, June 30-July 3.

Audi took positions three and four in the 24-hour race at Le Mans in front of 263,500 spectators, continuing its string of podium finishes in the iconic French endurance race.

In a dramatic race that was only decided on the last lap, Lucas di Grassi (BR), Loïc Duval (F) and Oliver Jarvis (GB) clinched third place for Audi at the last moment. Marcel Fässler (CH), André Lotterer (D) and Benoît Tréluyer (F) finished in position four. With that, Audi, in its 18th participation since the brand's Le Mans debut in 1999, achieved its 18th podium in succession including 13 overall victories.

Stevenson Motorsports took the team's best finish of the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship so far on Sunday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, when the No. 6 Audi R8 LMS of Andrew Davis and Robin Liddell finished fourth in the two-hour sprint race held in Northern California.
