Following their victory at the season-opening round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Magnus Racing continued a strong 2016 with a third-place finish during Saturday's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. With their successive podiums, the team has also retained their lead in both the WeatherTech Championship's point standings, as well as Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Championship. "This year will definitely be one of the more memorable events," stated Magnus Racing team owner and co-driver John Potter.

Stevenson Motorsports Perseveres For Top-10 in Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Debut

Just two months after their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut at Daytona International Speedway, Stevenson Motorsports scored another top-10 finish at Sebring International Raceway on Saturday.

For round two of the premier North American sportscar championship, Connor De Phillippi joined Robin Liddell and Andrew Davis in the No. 6 Stevenson Motorsports Audi R8 LMS to take home an eighth place finish while teammates Matt Bell, Lawson Aschenbach and Dion von Moltke were scored with a 16th place result in the No. 9 Stevenson Motorsports Audi R8 LMS.

Pierre Kaffer Returns to Flying Lizard for Sebring 12 Hour

As a continuation of the Rolex 24 at Daytona program earlier this year, Flying Lizard Motorsports will return to Sebring International Raceway with Krohn Racing for the 64th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Reprising his role, Audi Sport pool driver Pierre Kaffer will again join the team, bringing in a strong resume at this event having previously won the 12 Hour three times. In addition to two GT2 wins in 2009 and 2010, the German driver also won the event overall in 2004, in the Audi R8 LMP1.

The No. 45 Audi R8 LMS ran competitively in Round 1 at the 24 Hours of Daytona, despite contact from another car early in the race.

In what felt like one of the longest off seasons ever, M1 GT Racing and their Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery / Surgery Centers of America / Spyder supported Audi R8 LMS finally hit the track this past weekend for the first wheel-to-wheel action of 2016. Taking part in the GTA division at the opening round of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) event at the famed Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, the driving duo of Walt Bowlin and Larry Pegram scored a pair of top five finishes over the two event weekend as each driver would cross the line fourth in their respective race.

Dion von Moltke Named Sportscar Brand Ambassador to Audi of America

Dion von Moltke, who over the past four seasons has become the most experienced American driver behind the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS, now officially joins Audi of America as Sportscar Brand Ambassador. von Moltke's new role will see him extend his professional abilities on and off the racetrack. As the winner of several races, most notably the 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona, von Moltke will be able to apply his unique experience behind the wheel of the R8 LMS at major US automotive trade shows, Audi driving experience events, and other Audi events across the nation.

In one of the most exciting finishes in the history of the famed Rolex 24 at Daytona, Magnus Racing played a daring fuel strategy to limp across the finish line in first, taking victory in the GTD category by just over three seconds. This would serve as the second victory at Daytona for the team, the first victory for driver Marco Seefried, second for drivers John Potter and René Rast, and fifth for Andy Lally.

"It's pretty overwhelming to return to victory lane," stated team owner and co-driver John Potter. "This race had such an endless series of ups and downs, straight down to the final laps, that I think everyone on this team was overcome with emotion. This was such a team victory, I couldn't be happier for everyone here."
