The Audi Sport® customer racing teams, Magnus Racing and Stevenson Motorsports will kick o the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series at the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 30-31st. The teams will compete as part of the GTD class. Both teams will field a full 2016 IMSA race season.

Confirming their campaign in the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Magnus Racing is proud to announce the switch to the venerable Audi R8 LMS in a new partnership with Audi Sport customer racing.
"We're very excited about 2016," stated Magnus Racing co-driver and team owner, John Potter. "The Audi R8 LMS has proven an incredible competitor over the years, and as we look for ways to start anew for the team, the opportunity seemed right. Our interaction so far with everyone at Audi Sport customer racing has been extremely positive, and we're all anxious to take delivery of the car."
Stevenson Motorsports Returns to IMSA WeatherTech Championship with Audi Sport customer racing

2015 IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge champions Stevenson Motorsports announced today that the team will return to the top level of IMSA competition with a two-car GTD Class campaign. The 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD category will follow a new set of technical specifications, and the team will utilize the new Audi R8 LMS platform.
Stevenson Motorsports earned 17 GT Class victories in GRAND-AM before moving to concentrate exclusively on the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge following the merging of the United SportsCar Championship. That focus was well-rewarded as the team capped o the 2015 season not only with the championship title, but also netting the30th race victory for the organization.
